Somebody tell me again how lucky I am to be employed.

Let's not talk about that, though. This morning, I hung out with the young'uns a bit, which meant being subjected to children's television, a dicey propsition at best. When Nik hollered, "Hey, Abbey! The Upside-Down Show is next!" I cringed a bit, as I'd never ever heard of the thing, and watching most children's television, especially that which is aired between ten and two, is like chewing a bowl of Kevlar Krunchie-Os with a cotton candy chaser. However, I am now fully prepared to say in this public forum that The Upside-Down Show is THE GREATEST SHOW IN THE HISTORY OF TELEVISION. It's basically two completely-out-of-their-minds Australian guys with absolutely flawless comic timing, no shame, and an awareness that yes, we poor parents have to watch this, too. Sample dialogue:

Shane: How did you know that?
David: It's a complex language. I spent seven years studying Shminglish, but then I just put shmoo and shmoo together.
Shane: And got shmoo-shmoo?
David: Exactly.

It's the sort of show where David is using an imaginary remote control to control Shane, and accidentally hits the "Irish dancing" button; Shane begs him to hit the "stop Irish dancing" button because, and I quote, "I can't move my arms."

Speaking of, did I mention that Abbey was wearing a Guinness T-shirt on St. Patrick's Day? That's m'girl.
