slipjig3: (gashlycrumb winnie)
I started my morning with a phone call, asking why Abbey's health insurance has been cancelled. I do not recommend this as a way to start one's morning, especially when the best response one can come up with is, "ARE YOU SH*TTING ME?!" No sirree Bob. Mystery solved in less than four phone calls and problem at least partially dealt with, but jumpin' Jehovah on Texas toast, I do not like surprises.

On the plus side, it was actually a fairly decent day at work, which is something I have not been saying all that much lately. I introduced some of my coworkers to Chez Geek during our down time, received a touching surprise gift from one of them, and didn't have any especially horrid custimonsters, so I can't rightly complain.

Dinner was quick-cheap-and-easy comfort food: Shake'n'Bake pork chops. Actually, it was butt steak rather than chops, which not only has the advantage of being much cheaper, but also allows me to repeatedly use the phrase, "Shake'n'Bake butt steak."

Lastly, on the topic of Doctor Who New Season 4, which we're nearly finished with: "Silence in the Library"/"Forest of the Dead" was far and away the best, and "Midnight" was likely the scariest, but I don't recall anything that has freaked me out quite like that moment three minutes into "The Stolen Earth," when everyone just...looks...up...
