Attempting to get caught up, and failing
1) Preparations for Blogathon continue ever onward. Thanks to the lovely
spoothbrush, the awesome
daev, and the groovy Mysterious Anonymous Donor, I'm already up to $50 in pledges for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society! Thank you so much, y'all! As an added incentive to all who pledge, I am offering the following: for each donation, I will create for the donor a one-of-a-kind handcrafted personalized puzzle of whatever sort you wish. So don't be shy—click here and make your pledge today (and of course, tune in to this bloggy-thingy starting at 9 am EST on July 28 for all the showtime excitement). While you're at it, check out
rafaela's Blogathon blog at
star_barnkitty; also, allow me to promote the Blogathon activities of
zarhooie,
shadesong,
mnfiddledragon,
yunatwilight,
spoothbrush and
shadowwolf13. (Aiee, who did I miss?)
2) Having been gifted with some marvelous venison from my ex-father-in-law, we headed over to Chez Melchert this evening, where
jenphalian cooked us a magnificent meal,
lbitw took some lovely pictures of Anna in her garb, and
zarhooie, just back from her travels, slipped me my first taste ever of Vosges chocolate. *inhales sharply* I have decided that I am now going to devote the remainder of my mortal life to the worship of the Goji Bar, which is, near as I can tell, an orgasm wrapped in foil.
3) The following is taken from a flyer for a storytelling concert that took place locally last night:
"Bil Lepp is the Wonder Bra of storytelling. He takes something small and insignificant, and pushes it up into something realllly BIG and miiighty interesting!" — Barbara McBride Smith
This goes to show that there's nothing so wholesome that it can't be advertised with gratuitous cleavage.
