Thank you to whoever the badger-felching brain donor was who today managed to cut the cable that left most of New Hampshire with no phone service (except, of course, for the ability to dial the operator and whinge about it). When combined with the spectacular ice-facilitated header I took outside the Chinese take-out place, it's left me in the sort of foul mood that Singles Awareness Day seems to inspire in so many of us. *confetti!*

The extent of my celebration of the day with rafaela consisted of sharing a buttered bagel. We'll buy each other flowers once they're cheap again.
