LJaversary
Jul. 4th, 2004 08:54 amYesterday was my two-year LJ Anniversary. Yay, me. *confetti* *streamers* (I was going to post this then, but, well, life got busy for the day.) It would be very simple for me to go into a laundry list of what's changed in those two years—in short, nigh well everything, as a quick glance here will amply prove—but it's in life's nature to change. Documentation of such would be redundant. What gets me, though, is how LJ has affected my life itself. And I'm not even talking about the obvious stuff, like new friends, new contacts with old friends, flirtations, a new significant other, and all that. It's...
Well, okay, example. A few nights ago, I had a dream that I was watching cable, and the USA Network had picked up reruns of this old one-season cult-favorite series entitled Spaceboy. It never existed, of course, but in the dream I knew all the details: David Soul played a drifted in a future rural America, cruising the west with his faithful dog in a Chevy Cavalier retrofitted into a hovercar. My thought at the time was, "Hey, cool! I need to post that this is showing on Saturdays at 9 a.m.!
yendi,
shadesong and
grrwoo will all want to know about this!" Then I realized that this was just a dream, so I started constructing my LJ entry for when I woke up while I was still dreaming: "Okay, what can I say about Michael Moore buying that old guy's bike...?"
Have I gotten too obsessive? Or just obsessive enough? And what is it about this nebulous entity called LiveJournal that it is capable of such life-frappéing?
Or is it just me?
Anyroad, thank you all for two extraordinary years. I'll be around for a long, long while.
