Ye gods, I really need to stop neglecting the LJ thingy. Ah, well, full speed ahead:

1) Game Night (aka Das Spielnächt) went quite well indeed. We reached quorum headcount, seven all told, and actually played a game, which is not exactly a given where Das Spielnächt is concerned. We torqued up on deep-fried miscellany and Wednesday-type booze, and [livejournal.com profile] rafaela risked her own bodily integrity by giving everyone a guided tour of the album of my childhood photos that my mom was kind enough to blackmail me with. A spendid time.

2) In re #1: Hallelujah, saints be praised, the apartment is clean. Dishes were washed, leaf-piles of miscellaneous papers were slogged through, the coffee table was unearthed, the CD racks were stabilized (with the use of three eyehooks bolted into the wall) and the CDs scooped off of the living room floor, the random hairs were shaved off the vanity, the dust was blown off the vacuum cleaner... *whew* Well worth it. I almost feel civilized again.

3) Unrelated to #1, strangely: I am so addicted to Fluxx that I may never leave my newly-cleaned living room again.

4) Got a CD from [livejournal.com profile] grrwoo that rocked the proverbial Casbah. Yay! Between that and the ones [livejournal.com profile] rubian77 and [livejournal.com profile] rhiacat sent, as well as many cards and letters and packages and such (including a recent thank-you note; thank you, hon! *hugs*), I'm reminded of why I do LJ in the first place.

5) On Monday, I get to introduce [livejournal.com profile] rafaela to Oneonta. Wish me luck!

6) Utterly shameless, unmitigated, arrogant self-promotion: Pick up the latest copy of Games World of Puzzles, please. Thank you. Carry on.

7) Oh, and while I've been neglecting my posts, I've also sadly been neglecting my friends' list; if there's anything important and/or noteworthy that I've missed, please point me in its general direction. I'm sorry, and thank you.

8) Have I gone all godawful schmoopy enough to let you know how much I love you guys lately?

Um, ow...

Sunny the pointy Hades-beast adorable kitten really needs to stop using my bare flesh as a launching pad, especially when the hooks are extended. It took Anna multiple store-brand Band Aids and a stiff shot of rubbing alcohol to patch up the war wound this time around. Not a good sign....
