Fill in the blanks
Sep. 8th, 2004 12:49 pmProblem: Insert a single letter in the space provided to create a meaningful and accurate sentence: "Adam's ca__ is currently out being fixed."
Solution: Yes, it's a trick question:
Solution 1: "Adam's car is currently out being fixed." The poor Honda is still languishing away at the body shop a week later. When I called to check the status yesterday, I was told that they had to reorder a defective part that they'd already had to order once, and that there was much cutting and welding to be done, and that the collision had framulated the whizbang directly into the krammenplotz (I'm paraphrasing here), so here's a ransom note made out of letters snipped from the New York Post stating that I shouldn't expect to see my car until next Friday. Pardon me while I weep into my chocolate milk a while...
Solution 2: "Adam's cat is currently out being fixed." Anna and I drove Sunny down to the cat clinic for her spaying this morning. The transaction was relatively painless all told, and we'll be seeing the Fur-Baby again tomorrow, but, well, it's invasive surgery no matter how you slice it (pun unintended, I swear), and so we're doing our share of hand-wringing at the moment. That and little things that remind us she's away: "Let's put the food away before the cat... Oh." *sigh* "Adam, don't leave the bedroom door open, or... Oh." *sigh*
All will be well, soon enough. In the meantime, I have donuts to eat.
