The obligatory Election Day post

There's something very satisfying about the process. I don't know what it is, but I somehow feel like a responsible adult, for however short a time that lasts. And for a while, walking around with my button with a picture of GWB and the caption "The emperor has no brains," I even began to feel optimistic, like there was no way on earth Kerry could lose.
That was this afternoon. Now it's early evening, and the butterflies are back. I feel like pulling the blankets over my head and waiting the next four years out with a stack of comic books and a flashlight.
And on we go...
