All the etceteraness of it all

1) Hacking up my bronchial tubes an a rotating basis, with one of those coghs that make your ribs hurt. And, oh, look, it's still only November. I'd like to take this opportunity to announce my new Hibernation Action Plan....
2) Nothin' doin' on Thanksgiving, but much doin' the day after: after a more-or-less pleasant dinner with![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
rafaela's grandmother (despite some serrated remarks about the way Anna deals with the children, whom her grandmother hasn't even met), we trundled down for a late visit to our friends Bill and Naima in their new house east of Albany. Pumpkin pie, great conversation, even better hugs, warm hospitality, a place to crash for the night (because I was dead to the world where driving was concerned), all in a deeply comfortable pagan-commune-type group home in the middle of nowhere. Note to all current and former Lemmings from Champaign-Urbana, and you know who you are: It was like Illinois Street House without the hovering cloud of dysfunction and unrest. Ye gods, that felt sooooo good...
3) Speaking of Bill and Naima, they have started their own folk music distribution company, Crow and Wolf Music. They've just started, but they've already got some major names personally signed. Go and check it out, and tell everyone in your life who's a folk fan. And if you're a performer, give 'em a call about appearing within their pages; their deals are extraordinarily reasonable. You'll not be sorry.
4) I hate money. Hate it, hate it , hate it. Just saying.
5) Note to self: When you see a coworker wearing a close-fitting, collar-style necklace, it does not necessarily mean the same thing as when someone on your friends' list wears a close-fitting, collar-style necklace. Odds are, unless said necklace is made of leather of some such, said coworker probably doesn't even have the foggiest idea about any outside significance of such a thing. In other words, you deserve any peculiar looks you get in response to any oblique comments you might make. That is all.
