Okay, after some choice wee hours spent cutting and pasting, and getting enough material up there that I'm not ashamed of it any more, I think it's time to go public. *fanfare* *confetti* Behold:

The Lemmings Encyclopedia

To those who weren't in Champaign-Urbana between 1989 and 1993:
Hope you like it. Do keep in mind that this is seriously a work-in-progress, so feel free to keep tuning in. The "terms" category is probably the one with the widest wasn't-there appeal.

To those who WERE in Champaign-Urbana between 1989 and 1993:
Oy, am I nervous about this. It's one thing to have this stuff all written out at home, but quite another to leave it out in the Great Wide Open like this. I found myself censoring my own words here and there, being extraoridnarily cautious about repeating certain bits of information, like relationships that may or may not have been public knowledge, certain unflattering details (I have an entry on Alan Peck that I think I'll need a lawyer's consult before I can post it), certain delicate bits, that kind of thing. So, in addition to asking for your input, I'll also likely be asking for your permission on some matters, if that's okay.

It's still not set up for anyone but the sysop (me) to make changes. I've still got a lot of material that I need to copy-and-paste, and I'd like to get a little more of that out there first (stuff like the entire Enid cycle, which'll take a stiff drink before it goes up). But I do need and want your help, very much so. ([livejournal.com profile] daev? [livejournal.com profile] odhierre? [livejournal.com profile] knotwork? [livejournal.com profile] ianphanes? Y'hear?) A lot of the items that don't have posts yet are empty not because I had nothing to say, but because I had too much. How does one define Illinois Street House? Or Creative Lemmings Anonymous? Or Lauren and Jenny, fer crissakes? Beyond that, I know some of my material is either lacking, wrong or both, like a lot of the Plato stuff. You all are the ones who are going to make this actually work.

Until such times as I open things up for public change (which will likely be by invitation-only, but you know who you are), Any and all comments are more than welcome, and hugely appreciated, both from casual readers and from those who survived Lemminghood. Hoping beyond hope I've made a good start...
