On this week's CSI: Middle of Nowhere
Aug. 27th, 2007 01:10 pmSo I pulled into the parking lot of the Hannaford supermarket, and promptly noticed a state trooper cruiser, just sitting there in the middle of the aisle. Just as I was deciding that they'd pulled someone over for some reason (in a parking lot?), I spotted another police car, then another, along with about half a dozen troopers milling about. And a parked car surrounded with police tape. And a guy with a TV camera, filming the whole shebang.
This is a sign that perhaps one should be patronizing a different grocery store this afternoon.
I did go in, though, and got the full scoop from one of the rubbernecking cashiers peering out the window. It turns out that someone had robbed a local bank earlier, and the roped-off vehicle was the abandoned getaway car. Am I a bad person for thinking, "Finally! Something interesting!"?

I've just decided that I want to learn how to say, "I am a member of the Imperial Senate on a diplomatic mission to Alderaan," in as many languages as possible.
I am now debating whether to beg for translations, or put this out of my head as quickly as possible. And yes,
rafaela, I can hear you glaring at the back of my head. Shush.
