Just a reminder to everyone: This Saturday, I will be participating in this year's Blogathon as a member of Team Venture [insert V-sign hand signal here], raising money to benefit the American Cancer Society in honor of my late grandfather Robert Sampsell. 24 hours of non-stop action blogging, one post every half-hour. Yes, there is brain damage involved (if not now, then somewhere around 4 a.m.).

Here's the links you need to know about:

* The American Cancer Society donation page. Make your donations here!

* My original Blogathon post. Make a pledge or report a completed donation here!

* This year, I am working a list theme, and need ideas for lists to post. Desperately. Gimme all your suggestions here!

More info on my fellow members of Team Venture later, when I'm not actually late for work. Thanks to everyone who has already passed on their suggestions, and special thanks to [livejournal.com profile] eustaciavye for her pledge!

(Need a Team Venture icon....)

Ladies and gentlemen, please take a moment to imagine a grand trumpet fanfare, followed by a bunch of rockin' musicians rockin' like rockin' things: my son Nikolas, a.k.a. He Who Is Made of Awesome, turned 8 today!

Happy birthday, kiddo! It only gets better from here.

Apropos of nothing, has everyone seen Kristen Schaal, the recently-added Daily Show "correspondent"? Dear gracious God in heaven, I am so deeply, deeply in lust:

Kristen Schaal on the subject of cougars

When she started purring, I swear it took a colossal act of personal will not to fondle the TV screen. (I think I was chewing on the arm of the couch at one point.)

*cough* Right. Stepping away from the creepy-guy behavioral patterns. Um. How are you?

EDIT: And why was I not informed that she was on Flight of the Conchords? I am all over that like mochi.
