Pardon my squee
Sep. 2nd, 2009 10:52 pmWhile we were driving through town the other day, WEQX, the local alternative station, announced the upcoming Irish Fest down in Ballston Spa. I listened with some surprise, since an Irish festival is not the sort of event that your average alt-rock get-up is likely to pay lip service, and wondered if they had gotten any good names to show up, as opposed to just another set from Hair of the Dog (a good local band, but I can catch them at the Parting Glass in Saratoga on any given weekend for a lot cheaper).
Yes, well: Black 47, Eileen Ivers, Enter the Haggis, The Prodigals, Dervish, Gaelic Storm....
Ohhh, yeah, I squee'd. A good thing that I was stuck at a stoplight, or I would've driven off the damn road. Now watch—with my luck, I'll be trapped working the whole weekend.
