I was a productive little homunculus today: phone calls to providers of necessary services, relocation of viable stuff to new apartment and garbage to dumpsters, and a whole mess o' packing. The nature of the beastie gives us the luxury of taking our time moving, which means we don't have to have all of the packing done right frickin' now, but so far we have most of the big problems dealt with (i.e. the games, the DVDs, the music, most of the books and the endless boxes crammed with random papers, each with an average of three items that actually needed saving scattered amidst the mulch). We still have Part II of the bedroom to deal with, which we've agreed to tackle once the bed had been moved, as a major portion of the problem is under-the-bed detritus creepage. Also, the kitchen hasn't been touched, but that will also be saved for sometime next week (aside from a few imediately necessary items) as there will be much throwing away of foodstuffs involved, and something tells me we'll be subsisting on fast food for the first several days anyway.
So good day overall, but man, packing and moving are good for reminding one of the presence of all of one's body parts at once by making them all simultaneously hurt.
