I don't know how I got out of the habit of posting here, but I need to fix that. So in reverse chronological order:

1) Spent some nifty time with Boy-Child and Girl-Child today, which was a blast as it ever is. Took Abbey for a haircut, watched Mythbusters reruns, even played a game of Apples to Apples Junior with their mom. There were ninja impressions. And a cake. Ninjas and cake. My day.

2) Last night was weekly Tuesday hangout with [livejournal.com profile] fiddle_dragon, in which plans for a quiet evening in front of the TV were scuttled by Celefin the Cutest Bichon in the Lower 48 States getting onto the dining table in everyone's absence and snarfing down some Trader Joe's Mint Chocolate Cremes (with the results you're trying not to picture right now), followed by us getting locked out of the apartment. On the other hand, [livejournal.com profile] zeyr swooped in quickly to save the day (because he's awesome like that), and there was Doctor Who (which is awesome) and, of course, [livejournal.com profile] fiddle_dragon (who can't help but be awesome), so 'twas a very good night, indeed.

3) On Tuesday afternoon, on the other hand, I got together with the ever-cool [livejournal.com profile] wired_lizard for another writing session, so that she could hammer away at her NaNoWriMo project and I could finally try to hack a slice off of the remaining chunk of The Noise of Endless Wars. My word count: a metric zilch. My Muse has failed me, the bastard.

4) Monday night was a quieter proposition, in which I slouched in the comfy living room with the nifty [livejournal.com profile] issendai as we munched on Korean BBQ and passed the Netflix auto-streaming controls back and forth: Bones, half of The Boondock Saints, about five minutes of some awful late-60's softcore sexploitation flick whose title my brain has rejected like a bad spleen, a whole 20 minutes of The Apple (she's braver than I thought), and several musical numbers from Reefer Madness: The Musical. Good times, good times....

5) And as for the weekend: a wonderful party at which I met some wonderful new friends and had a wonderful time, leading to a way-too-late bedtime and a sleep cycle that would make Franz Kafka shake his head and tell you to lay off the Absinthe and knock back an Ambien or two. Totally worth it.

And now? Now I willfully abandon consciousness in preparation for the Thanksgiving festivities at Gojirawitziev. Horizontalness, ho!
