I recall trying this once before years ago, and the results were...well, "fascinating" is probably the safest word to use here. Let's blow the dust off the cardboard box and see what we unpack, shall we?
The Heretics' Confessional
In a comment, confess your heresies against the common pop cultural belief system. All sins thus confessed may be made freely and openly, and all shall be forgiven, no questions asked. Commentary, discussion and even contrary positions are permitted, but play nice: flaming, trolling or other nastiness shall bring the Wrath of Blog upon thy pate like a hundredweight of roofing tiles. Management reserves the right to close up shop at any time.
I'll begin. *deep breath*
* I found Midnight in Paris to be a load of self-important, self-indulgent twaddle.
* Leonard Cohen, more often than not, will send me shrieking from the room, ears clamped beneath terrified hands. Especially "Suzanne." (See also my reaction to Joy Division.)
* The Last Action Hero had me rolling with laughter. Rolling, I say.
* Not Roth. Not Hagar. Cherone. I'm serious.
* I greet any and all discussions of current and semi-current video games with bored uncomprehending stares.
* I am slowly coming to the opinion that Cameron Crowe might very well be the greatest American director of the last thirty years.
* If coffee vanished from the earth tomorrow, I doubt I'd even blink.
* Any question or opinion that includes both "Marvel" and "D.C." is a question or opinion that I couldn't possibly care less about.
* The fact that the Monkees and Jethro Tull aren't in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame makes me want to call the whole operation a sham.
Your turn.
