The nightmare is over
May. 7th, 2012 12:51 pmSo we're sitting around the Mount Holyoke library, 40 minutes after
figmentj handed in her last two final papers for her last two need-this-for-the-credits classes, plunking away on our respective Internets. Suddenly she has the dawning-realization moment I've been waiting for.
"Wait," she says, "am...am I...out of school?"
I take her hand between both of mine. "Yes. Yes, you are."
"...wow." She spends several seconds blinking into the middle distance, letting the information seep into her neurons. "That's so weird...."
"It is."
There's more blinking, then an abrupt look of excitement and a catch of breath: "I should take a nap!"
