It's always a delight finding something that one had misplaced some time ago, unless, of course, it isn't. There are things one would not want to hear coming from one's own mouth; among them is, "Oh. Um, wow. I guess I never did use those chicken breasts in the fridge. Um, ew."

On the plus side, I can now enter the kitchenlet without pre-arming myself with a loaded can of Febreze Air Effects.

I have had enough of those surprises that I try to case out the fridge every three four days.

The garbage cans the other day on the other hand... and the compost.... *shudder*

You know what works really well for that stink? Vinegar. In a bowl. In the fridge.

We had that happen with a package of chicken breasts that had been bought just two days previous. That was really depressing.
