I was going to do a post on the Oscar nominations, which came out bright and early this morning (I direct you to [livejournal.com profile] taureanbabe's journal or to this IMDb page for all the gory details), but in my preparations for such I came across something that I am squeeing about:

Spectrum 8 Theatres in Albany, the only theatre worth going to in this neck of the woods, is hosting the Edwood Film Festival. I squee'd the first time when I saw the name, thinking there'd be showings of Glen or Glenda? and the like. But it's better: they're accepting submissions not only of short films, but (and here's where I squee'd even harder) of scripts for "microsodes," multiple-part five-minute episodes with recurring characters. The winning scripts will be produced into finished films, filmed locally in one low-budget day, edited by Hollywood professionals, and screened as part of the festival.

As I just said to [livejournal.com profile] mgrasso, "Dude, I am all over this like bad credit."

They're also looking for actors, musicians, cinematographers, and other volunteers.

Who's with me?
