slipjig3Today we ventured into the wilds of Darkest Upstate new York to visit two of our Friends Made of Concentrated Awesome, ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
liamstliam and alethea_eastrid, in their lovely and comfortable Salem home (once we located the right door, after walking into some poor bastard's living room). Present were the Flying J&J Brigade (lbitw and jenphalian), sideshownate and his sweetums, and a couple whose LJ names I neglected to procure. Also present:
* killer pot roast and cheese stew
* deviled eggs
* excellent cheese and bread
* steamed mussels
* baked brie
Oh, and awesome books by the roomful. Between that and the exceptional company, a grand time. (Ye gods, do I feel spoiled.) If you two are reading this: you rock like a warehouse chock full of rocking things!
Before this, the big event of the morning was finally getting my taxes done, and reminding myself why I go to H&R Block every year: it seems that, in addition to getting cash back this year (which is a bit of a surprise, due to a few matters that weren't exactly in my favor), I neglected to claim a child tax credit last year, so my prep person had put in an amended 2006 form to get me the back cash. Sweetness in a can!
And now? Nowrafaela is chatting with chris_walsh, and I'm chatting with shadesong and my own sleepiness. Time soldiers onward.
