A call from the road

slipjig3I'm in the passenger's seat as I thumb-type this, watching the dark unfold before us as we slip west along I-40 between Memphis and Little Rock. We started today's travels in Atlanta with a drive past ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
figmentj's old apartment and the fabled Big Chicken, led to lunch at the Golden Rule BBQ in Alabama, followed by the sublime moment of taking the reins in time to watch the sunset over the wilds of Mississippi while she slept in the back seat. And now our bellies are full again, and Wilson Pickett is on the stereo, and the highway and the night sky are spilling out before us in the way they only can in the Midwest.
Life is good. I just wanted to tell you all that.
