Housework. Yay.
Nov. 25th, 2003 11:08 amIt's definitely that time of year again: Mom-in-Law is currently celebrating her day off by cranking up her Neil Diamond Christmas CD and steam-cleaning anything that doesn't run away fast enough. Personally, I'm hiding in plain sight by doing some pre-winter cleaning myself, because my room is a shambles; my feng isn't quite shuiing the way I'd like it to. I've definitely made some headway (my unaccounted-for piles of random whatever are fewer and smaller than they were), but it still looks like Brian Jones and Keith Moon threw a kegger in here some time last week.
Also, I'm trying to get the wall hangings that I hauled out of storage up and pretty, and doing so using only pre-existing nails. I'm reluctant ot pound more of my own, because the walls already look like a beetle larva condominium project in here. The trouble is trying to find the Best Place for everything, which is especially daunting in light of the one wall that we painted cinnamon-brown back in January. (If I'd have known she'd be moving out...) So the poster-sized photo of the Frenchman with the cello and the umbrella that my father bought me in Paris is probably more of a Hildie-choice than a Vern-choice, but I hung it anyway, along with the Soviet-black-market mandolin from
vaclav2 and Amy.
*looks around* This would be so much easier with a backhoe and a pressure hose...

Date: 2003-11-25 07:06 pm (UTC)I've been known you use "Hildie" as a verb from time to time: "Jeez, I can't paint for squat. Look how badly I Hildied that wall."
