I have just enough time to report that it's after 10:30 at night, and my son Nikolas is still screaming blue sparkling murder, letting us and the better portion of the civilized world know that he, my son Nikolas, is displeased with the notion that it's past his bedtime. Apparently, to my son Nikolas, sleep is an unsupportable demand, and the insistence that he be in his bed at night an unpardonable offense. I think it is safe to say that my son Nikolas is not my favorite person in the world at this moment.

How dare you make a 3.5 year old go to bed!!! You're a horrible father! He doesn't need sleep at that age. And you should give him coffee and chocolate at 10:30pm instead of making him go to sleep.

One is tempted to consider straps on the bed and a ball-gag.

Yes, for Nik, not for you.

What apparatus you choose to attach to your bed is your business.
