Beyond sweet
Mar. 5th, 2004 06:41 pmGenties and ladlemen, there are good music procurement days, there are great music procurement days, and then there's today. I'm telling you, this day has been one long audiorgasm, pretty much from the moment I woke up.
Since 8 o'clock this morning, I have received the following:
* a brand-spanking-new copy of Fever to Tell by Yeah Yeah Yeahs (trust me, you need this album)
* a used copy of Elastica's self-titled
* a snootload of mp3's courtesy of
eleazar, a cache so big that I don't even know where to begin
* an mp3 of the Paperboys' Irish reel throwdown of "All Along the Watchtower," which is why I'm now in eternal debt to
spoothbrush
* at long, long last, "Johnny Appleseed" by Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros, also on mp3
After that haul, I was firmly believing that it couldn't possibly get any better. Couldn't possibly, that is, until I popped over to the iTunes Music Store and noticed their latest "exclusive."
I have eight words for you all: The White Stripes' version of "Black Jack Davey."
Pardon me for nudging this entry into PG-13 territory, but fuck yeah. The only quandary is what to listen to now.
EDIT: Confidential to
rafaela: The White Stripes track is making me air-guitar like a bastard's son. Just thought you'd like to know.
