No joy in Memphis

rafaela called last night, sick and miserable, sporting lower back pain that Tylenol won't touch, a low-grade fever, general irritation, and (luckily) intentions to see the doctor first thing this morning. Said doctor confirmed what we all were thinking: kidney infection. In other words, a whole heaping bowlful of No Fun.

So now the poor girl's on a seven-day run of some scorching antibiotics with a rest-and-fluids chaser, and she's still in pain, and... *sigh* Y'know, this is the part I really hate about long-distance relationships. I should be tucking her into bed, giving her hot tea, rubbing her shoulders, giving her full control of the remote, but there's this stupid thousand-mile gap preventing it. At least she's in good hands, with a good caretaker. That helps me rest more easily.

When I told her that I'd be mentioning this in LJ, she asked that I pass along a message: "Any prayers, positive thoughts and well-wishes are welcome. I need all the help I can get." I'll second that.

No need to ask... always given freely and bountifully. Hope your honey is feeling better soon and the mean, nasty infection goes away. *nods*
