Old business::

1) Nik's virus: He's doing a good deal better today, after a miserable night of wheezing in his sleep. Poor Grandma had the honor of crashing on the couch while he slept in the chair, unwilling to be spirited upstairs where he belonged. (I'd have done it myself, except that he'll have nothing to do with me between the nighttime hours of 10 and 5. He screams violet banshee hell if anyone but Grandma comes running.) But today we got some Prednazone in him, which has eased the breathing; miracle of miracles, Kristi and her mom actually convinved him to drink some children's Motrin voluntarily. I am in awe of their people skills.

2) Abbey's party invitations: I finished writing up the invitations themselves, then left Abbey to sign them, which she did with great gusto; she even went so far as to seal the envelopes. All that remained was to address them, which I decided to save until this morning. A tactical error on my part: her first words to me when I woke up weren't "Good morning" or "Hi, Dad," they were "The envelopes are still on the table waiting for you." I hope she realizes that huffiness won't always look this cute on her.

3) December visit with a certain someone: Grrr... *tears at hair* Do you ever get the feeling that the world is conspiring against you? We're still trying to get this to work on a practical level, but there are large stubborn obstacles standing between us (not the least of which is airfare). Watch this space for further developments.

New business:

Games is buying lots of stuff. Mom bought white fudge Oreos. Life is quite, quite good.
