My, how Tuesday...

1) My dearest Nikolas, darling boy, we must go over the lesson on sharing. Yes, sharing is a good thing, but that does not apply to viruses, bacteria and other contagions, thank you. I'm doing somewhat better now, but last night was pretty nigh well miserable, all told. (And to those of you I spoke with last night, each of whom told me to get some rest: I got some rest. I rested so soundly that I slept through the sump pump spewing a three-inch layer of water onto the basement floor.

2) I had dinner with Kristi at the Olive Garden on Sunday night. As always, dinner out for the two of us is our chance to talk-with-an-uppercase-T, and we most certainly did so, covering how we're holding up through our respective stressors, what's going on with the kids, how they're handling the separation at this point, what's going to happen at the end of the year, even my prospective visit with rafaela next month. It was a pleasant time, although we were both tired enough that we were a little more guarded than usual, I think. Still, it's a luxury I look forward to.

3) Girl-child lost recess priveleges today for biting somebody in class. Boy-child got a time-out at day care for grabbing another kid by the neck which rough-housing, and responded to said punishment by knocking over a chair. I share this information to dispel any illusions that these are landed seraphim we're dealing with. Could someone pass the naproxin, please...
