The best-laid plans of mice and men

Original plan for today's Saratoga excursion:
Pick up Trey and Col at 3:30
Glass of wine at the Wine Bar
Dinner at Little India

Problem: Col has made an obligation with her family, and must move back the time of departure accordingly.

New plan #1:
Pick up Trey and Col at 4:30
Glass of wine at the Wine Bar
Dinner at Little India

Problem: Col calls to say that she is too sick to participate, due to excessive sleep-deprived revelry that lasted well into morning
Related complications: Col is the one whose heart was set on Indian food; Jimmy decides at the last minute that he'd like to com after all.

New plan #2:
Pick up Trey and Jimmy at 4:30
Glass of wine at the Wine Bar
Dinner and/or cocktails at Professor Moriarty's

Problem: Professor Moriarty's is closed at 5:30 on a Saturday evening, with no explanation given.
Related Complications: Trey is too damned hungry to waste time with wine when she could be eating; now that plans have been changed, she is seriously jonesing for a decent cheeseburger.

New plan #3:
Pick up Trey and Jimmy at 4:30
Dinner at the Saratoga Brew Pub
Glass of wine at the Wine Bar

Complication: Those of us involved realize that we're all of half a block from Borders Booksellers.

New plan #4 (final):
Pick up Trey and Jimmy at 4:30
Dinner at the Saratoga Brew Pub
Shop for books until we go blind
Glass of wine at the Wine Bar
Crawl home half-conscious and pass out

So all in all, a good evening.
