Wednesday randomness

* New icon, stolen from maps_or_guitars, who stole it from fop. The one thing missing from the first three minutes of Harold and Maude.

* I need to remember the fine print. Especially when it's bacon. (SMOKED BACON with hickory smoke flavor added. I don't want my bacon to smell like fake barbecue, thank you very much.)

* Kids got a bit spoiled today: Slushees, the park, a few goodies from Toys 'R' Overpriced, Burger King for the boy and Chinese take-out for the girl. Great fun.

* By the way, I never did relate how I discovered exactly what my standing with the kids is. On Sunday, I called their grandparents' house where they're staying for two weeks, and chatted first with Abbey and then with Nik. When our conversation had run its course, Nik said, "Do you want to talk to Grandpa?"

"Sure!" I said, needing to ask my ex-father-in-law a few quick questions.

"Okay, Dad. I love you." He then walks to his Grandpa to hand him the phone, and I hear him say, "I dunno. Some crazy guy."
