To [livejournal.com profile] daev: CD got here. It rules all known universes. Thank you! *happydance* (P-note. *snerk*)

To several parties who shall remain nameless and yet no less guilty: Yes, my middle name is "Dietrich". Y'all got a problem with that? (Every last one of you shall pay. Dearly.

Unrelated to secret messages: I actually wrote a song today, for the first time in almost two years. It is quite possibly the silliest thing I've ever written. Funny songs don't come ot me readily, but this one did, which I find mildly startling.

That'll do for now, methinks.

Even me? With the big stick and the sewing machine?

Repeatedly prodding me into making a mix disc does eventually work. (Thanks to both of you for kicking my ass in that direction.) By the time I was done I was really quite happy with what I'd put together. So I'm glad it gave you some pleasure.

(For those of you following along at home, it was a comprehensive introduction to the current Champaign-Urbana pop music scene, biased towards the sort of songs I think [livejournal.com profile] slipjig and [livejournal.com profile] rafaela would like.)

You can play your new song when I visit. We'll relax, mellow out, and swap stories of the things we've done in the decade-and-a-half since we first met. I'm getting all psyched up -- one day left of work, and if they don't like my premature mental vacation they can just suck it.

So, so looking forward to it! *happydance*

And as for the mix, [livejournal.com profile] rafaela today paid the ultimate mix CD artiste's compliment: that she was probably going to use about half the tracks on other mixes. 'Nuff said. (On a related note, you've got me jonesing to start writing liner notes again. I haven't done that in at least seven or eight years....)

Tom says that if there's any pain being inflicted in his house, he's participating.

And also, he says to close your parentheses.

And *I* say that you shall play said song for us. Yes. *nod*

(Um, oops.) <==== See? I closed those.

And the song...ai. You are aware that this'll mean having to actually listen to me sing, aren't you?
