slipjig3A quiet night tonight.
I'm sitting in my T-shirt and khakis with my feet propped up and my headphones in place, trying to will the tension from my shoulders. The temperature outside has dipped below 60°, a small miracle and a sign of good to come. My annual state of AutumnWeird has been hovering around the edges of my consciousness for a week or two now, and tonight seems a good night for it to come out and play for a while, especially if I crack the window open just enough to believe that I've awakened in October.

rafaela has already tucked herself into bed for the night. She ran out of spoons early, I think ("I'm not the brave little toaster I should be," she said as she began to drift off). She doesn't like feeling so tired so early, but I tell her that it happens; we all do what is necessary to go on, and right now, what she needs is to sleep. I'm willing her a kiss on the cheek as I type this, hoping that she's as loved in her dreams as she is in the waking world.
I received a note from my doctor today, saying that my blood work looks fine on all counts. A sigh of relief for that.
Nothing much more to be said today, other than that I wish you all good sleep, better dreams, and my gratitude. G'night.
