Today, we gave
sailorsgrrl two mix CDs, and she gave us a jar of nascent bread-and-butter pickles and a jar of ready-to-snarf-and-I-know-'cuz-I-did dilly beans. Life is better with food products in jars; last week,
jenphalian bequeathed to us a jar of
lbitw's ass-kicking-and-name-taking venison stew, which is currently residing in our freezer, to be removed, heated and devoured once autumn has truly sunk into our veins. We love you guys! Love all of you! *lj-hugs*
Ye gods, am I in full-tilt foodie mode. What was supposed to be a simple late dinner of scrambled eggs turned into this shiitake mushroom and shallot and madeira and cheese and tarragon Thing that pretty much ran away from me. I have this bad habit when I'm in experimental chef mode of adding just one thing too many. In this case, it was probably the madeira, but I really didn't have many options in the wine department. Ah, well, the eggs were still tasty as hell.
