A taste of home
Dec. 30th, 2005 01:10 amI have a million and twelve reasons to adore my sister, but she somehow managed to bump up the count by one. How? For Christmas, she sent me a little taste of home, in the form of two Chicago-style deep-dish pizzas, one sausage, one pepperoni, shipped frozen courtesy of Tastes of Chicago.
Ohhhh, yes.
I had
rafaela throw the sausage one in the oven so it would be ready when I got home. And no, it can't possibly be the same as ordering one fresh from Geno's East, but it was close enough that it took all of two bites to age-regress me to about ten or so; I was happy-dancing in my chair. Snarfed half, and bagged up the other half for lunch. Life, as they say, is good.
Oh, and they also ship Carson's ribs and Eli's cheesecakes. (I really need to do something about the unsightly drool stains on this shirt....)
