What does a girl have to do to get herself a tauntaun? —amalthya, first post on my f'list this morning

Cherie the landlady called up at 7:15 this morning to get me to come dig out the Oldsmobile so the guys could finish plowing the lot. Cherie rocks like a rockin' thing, so I obliged. Very glad I did: she actually had a shovel I could borrow, rather than the cardboard box I was planning on using, and a cadre or folks willing to help. As it was, I took one look at the molehill that was once my car and started laughing out loud, in a laugh-that-I-may-not-cry sort of way. That said, excavation proceeded swiftly, and I was able to help a couple of other folks dig before my legs formally went on strike.

Three minor observations:

1) Wow, I'd never had my beard freeze before.

2) Ye gods, am I glad I don't have the minivan any more.

3) Hot cocoa. Now. Dammit.

And hey, I'll be evil and suggest this: post this to 100videos as a special bonus entry! Talk it up like it was a real 1984 music video! Pull "facts" about the band and the song out of your ass! (What would've been perfect was if this had been available before you'd posted Video #33: you could've called it Video #33 1/3...)
