Hi, all. Due to the moon being in the seventh house and Jupiter aligning with Mars or some such, I've actually got a real work day today: 9:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Yes, this is what I ask for and vnever get, but that doesn't mean I have to like getting up in the morning.

As a result, though, I don't have the time to get caught up regarding the weekend just yet, as life at the Chateau du Shayara is always worth an entry of its own; watch this space for further developments. I do feel the need, though, to point out that I got derfed rather nicely at this entry. ("Being derfed" is an old PLATO mainframe term for forgetting to log out, and having some cheese log go and post something embarrassing under your name in a notesfile. Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] lbitw. Thank you ever so much.)

And speaking of slang, my phrase du jour seems to be "ramp traffic." I saw it on a sign on the interstate, but I've been thinking it'd best work in cases where someone with less couth might use the term "ho": "Oh, she is such ramp traffic. I'm not even going there." So far, I've been applying it to attention-seeking cats. [livejournal.com profile] shadesong's kitties, especially Jack? Total ramp traffic.

More tonight. Enjoy you day, everyone.

So, if ramp traffic has a tramp stamp, does that make it a ramp tramp stamp?

"Dangerous at any speed" comes to mind...

As does "slippery when wet". :)

Allow me to throw in "soft shoulder" and "merge" before crawling off to sleep.

Lemme turn up this hearing aid.....

I was managing a high-school subset of the PLATO cluster on the CDC at UGA. I got to put together lesson sets for students of geometry (proofs), trig (more proofs), and intro calculus (yay! no more proofs!).

"Rapunzel, that fabled damsel with exceedingly long hair, was named by her witch captor for the ramps—also known as wild leeks—that the girl's father stole from the witch's garden." -- http://www.chronogram.com/issue/2006/05/arts/food.php

So if he was stealing them for illicit resale, wouldn't that be ramp trafficking?
