It's day three of the CinemaBowl thingamabob. (You are aware that it's going to take over three weeks just to get through round one, yes? Might as well get comfy, Cupcake.) Same rules apply: for each pairing, select the title you prefer. The winner of each will advance to the next round. The now traditional note: There are two separate polls here, so do make sure you click both submit buttons.

EDIT: Oops. Deadline for voting on this round is Thursday, March 29 at 1 p.m.

EDIT: Voting is now closed for this poll; any further votes will not be counted. Thanks again!

Orange Conference, Division A

[Poll #955550]

Orange Conference, Division B

[Poll #955551]

And if you haven't voted on Red Divisions C & D yet, you've got until 1 p.m. Thanks!

Methinks some of these are going to be squashes ... A-1, A-7, B-4, possibly also B-3 ...

*nodnod* This has turned out to be the Blowout Round, for the most part. Next round? Not so much.

It probably says a lot about me that my toughest choice was between Almost Famous and Snakes on a Plane...

By the way, I'm enjoying this. (Look, I'm being all encouraging 'n' stuff...)

*grin* Thank you! Notice that you're not exactly alone in that particular quandary, as that's one of the closer races.

It Happened One Night is one of my favorite movies.

Also... bit of trivia... it is one of the three movies to ever sweep the Big Five awards at the Oscars.

Picture, Director, Actor, Actress, and Screenplay.

The other two to manage such a feat are One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and The Silence of the Lambs.

It's funny: I find myself filling in fewer of the brackets as time goes on.

I feel like these results are going to be skewed by a certain genre of geekiness.

True. But then again, that's reflected to some degree by the film choices made available. Let's just say that I know my friends' list pretty well.

The wonderful thing about this match-up is seeing each pair as a collaboration rather than a competition. You know: The Re-animator does Malcolm X! Reality Bites Marty! Saw ... in a space capsule! Ed Wood presents "The Pianist"!

Oh, dear God, I didn't think the Pink Flamingos vs. The Killing Fields match could get any more disturbing....

(By the way, given your reply title, I'm wishing it had been Macbeth instead.)
