Somehow, we've made it to Friday on the Project That Won Adam a Thousand Angry Stares! *confetti* *noisemakers* This will be the last poll of the week, until we resume the festivities on Monday. In the meantime, for each pairing, select the title you prefer; the winner of each will advance to Ye Olde Round 2. ALERT ALERT ALERT: There are two polls, so be sure to hit both submit buttons. Since this is the weekend approaching, I'll allow a little more time to respond—the deadline for doing so is Saturday, March 31 at 11:59 p.m. (since I can never remember if midnight belongs to the day before or the day after).

EDIT: Voting is now closed for this poll; any further votes will not be counted. Thanks for participating!

Yellow Conference, Division A

[Poll #956929]

Yellow Conference, Division B

[Poll #956930]

And you've got until 1 p.m. on yesterday's poll. Thank you again for your continued participation!

Lots of neck-in-neck races this time ... and not too many hard choices, at least for me. For the most part the answer always seemed obvious; the only times I hesitated was when sentiment interfered with my rational appraisal (B-4).

But ... Single White Female? I'll admit to having seen it a couple of dozen times, but that's only because Jennifer Jason Leigh's naked in it.

Yeah, I had a feeling the races would be considerable closer this time out. As for Single White Female, I was trying to be representative in my selections, and felt I needed something in the genre of "cheesy 90's erotic thriller." Maybe the wrong choice, but so be it. (And I understand the Jennifer Jason Leigh thing. That was pretty much the only reason I picked Fast Times at Ridgemont High over Wayne's World.)

*nods* Definitely needed an entry, as it's a major genre. I'm just not certain it produced any films with the staying power of most of the titles on this list. Basic Instinct, maybe.

(potentially controversial analogy involving my least favorite film of all time deleted, though you're welcome to respond to it by e-mail)

I think that was the one where Anna said, "Dude, you're this close to losing your privelege of having testicles."

I knew there would be trouble this time out. When she looked at the pairings, [livejournal.com profile] rafaela patted me on the shoulder sympathetically. "Adam?" she said. "You're gonna die." I'm waiting for the pitchfork-wielding minions to show up any time now.

Walk The Line vs Braveheart? Jeebus, Man!
How am I supposed to vote fairly when both fuilms have merit for different reasons? *flail ala Don Music with wooden salad utensil* :D

I briefly considered creating a bunch of sockpuppet accounts for the sole purpose of making sure that Life is Beautiful ends up nowhere near the next round, but it looks like good taste is prevailing on that particular vote.
