I just walked in the apartment building to discover, along with another fellow, that a chipmunk had somehow gotten into the building, and rather than turn back the way it came and leave (I am minded that chipmunks are routinely outwitted by some brands of potato chips), it went charging off down the lower-level hall. I alerted a shop guy nearby—"Hey, you're being followed by a chipmunk"—and together, the three of us managed to herd the adorable li'l thing toward the door. Too cute.

Discovery: When bounding up a flight of stairs, chipmunks do not actually make noise, but if they did, it would sound like *doink!*doink!*doink!*doink!*.

Awww! Yeah, the chipmunks here at Bennington do that too.

Hee! Too cute. Chipmunks are still a bit of a novelty for me—very much a Northeastern thing, not so much in Illinois.

It's lovely, having little fluffy animals running around. We also have a multitude of squirrels and the occasional bunny. And it never gets old.

I hope you mean the bouncy-cartoon "*doink!*doink!*doink!*doink!*" rather than the chipmunks-making-more-chipmunks "*doink!*doink!*doink!*doink!*."

Don't hide under the furniture. That's where the indoor rodents are digging for nuts.
