1) Coming home from work is always a good thing, but it's even better when one's sweetie has baked a frosted double-layer devil's-food Coca-Cola cake. Yay, [livejournal.com profile] rafaela's Southern heritcage! Unfortunately, now I'm craving sweet tea. Sigh.

2) Anna does not seem terribly inclined to accept my suggestion of renaming the cats Rothko and Pollock.

3) As you may recall, I've been waffling over the book-to-be, as to whether to write it now or wait for NaNoWriMo next month. Well, [livejournal.com profile] issendai has complicated matters by proposing NaNoOhShitMo as a NaNo warmup month, with a 25,000 word goal. Crud. By my clock I haaaaave...let's see...a little under 25 minutes to decide. Eep. Am I ready for this? Better yet, is anyone else in?

4) As I said, I had to work today, but I did get to hit Taste of the North Country 2007 for a little bit. For some reason, roughly 2/3 of the booths were offering something with shellfish in it. This is not in itself a problem, but really, how many crab cake offerings do we really need? Still good stuff, though.

5) I hurt. For no good reason. Maybe too much caffeine.

I hurt. For no good reason.

Did you hurt yourself today? To see if you still feel?

Unfortunately, now I'm craving sweet tea. Sigh.

I can get something that's at least similar to sweet tea at a Portland Southern restaurant called the Delta Cafe. But having had little true Southern experience, I can't be sure how authentic it is, but me being me with my sweet tooth I liked it. If my Mississippi friend [livejournal.com profile] aoniedesade ever visits Portland, I'll take her there so she can judge it on its sweet-tea merits (or lack thereof).
