Ladies and gentlemen, I've finally found the Tattoo I Must Have:

(I forget who I ganked this link from. Help?)

In unrelated news, I wish I could duplicate the story a coworker told today involving her mom, a tray of vodka ice cubes, a mug of coffee, two cats and a can of (and I quote) "whippy-cream," but honestly, I could never, ever do it justice.

Note my ljcon. Mutual recognition symbol among old-school hackers. Also, I think, a teeshirt available from thinkgeek...

Huh. Y'know, I never knew it was supposed to be the hacker emblem; I was interested in it strictly as a Game of Life reference.

Ahh, sorry, it's a bit of a ROGeR (Really Obscure Geek Reference): it's a glider from John Horton Conway's Game of Life. If you follow the link, read the basic rules, and then scroll down to examples of patterns, you can see the glider in action in a nifty little animation. (Be warned: once you start doing the Life thing, it is extraordinarily addictive. Approach with caution, Grasshopper.)

Ah, so. :)

I'm prone to addiction (LJ, anyone?), so I should stay away. Far away. But it's good to know what that's all about.

Yeah, the tattoo looks nice now, but just wait -- it will start moving across your wrist, up your arm, and then your skin will be one huge grid.

But then you get a full-body tattoo for the price of a little one.
