One of those mornings, in progress
Nov. 8th, 2007 08:44 amSo I awoke from dreams of Sasha Baron Cohen carrying the torch at the Olympics, to which only about forty people showed up, only to be graced in my waking hours with what is officially the Worst Earworm EVER. Yes, that would be the Shaggs' "My Pal Foot-Foot." I will be accepting the world's pity during regular business hours, thank you very much.
Thing is, I know why that's the earworm du jour: last noght's discovery that some deranged lunatic went and made a video for it. (I swear, the signs of the coming Apocalypse are just piling up like firewood now.) Actually, the video is quite charming and well-done, I have to admit. If you're wondering, though, about the identity of the two-legged critter prancing about—to quote
eustaciavye on the matter, "What the hell IS that thing?"—that would be Foot-Foot, the cat described in the song, as drawn by band member Dorothy Wiggin for the original Philosophy of the World album cover. Proof positive that their Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot factor truly is multidisciplinary.
I don't even want to think about what today's NaNo writing is going to produce. *shudder*
(Side note: I am deeply troubled by how often my Shaggs icon has found gainful employment lately, especially since my Sandy Denny icon hasn't been touched. Somthing is Wrong.)
