It was a day. Just one.
Mar. 19th, 2008 11:39 pmThe post I was going to make before work, but didn't:
Dear Invisible Mad Scientists Living Upon and In My Head:
Folks, I hate to impede the forward march of science, but when you're done doing whatever it is you're doing, could you please remove the Phillips screwdriver from where it's lodged in my skull? Thanks.
Yours,
Adam
Yep, apparently my mantra of "I don't get migraines" was wishful thinking on my part. Better now, no thanks to my callers. Has there been a national IQ rollback that I wasn't informed of? (I regret that when that smart-ass kid thought he'd get me riled by asking me to spell "Chlamydia," I lacked the presence of mind to say, "Ask your mom. I'm sure she knows.")

[1]I should point out that this was 1985-ish, back before most straight people had very much clue about safer-sex. Everyone was concerned mostly with gonorrhea and syphilis, both of which could be cleared up with penicillin, and with this new thing called "herpes", and then there was this really scary thing called "AIDS", but "only gay people get that". Other diseases--like chlamydia and trichinomiasis--weren't even on the radar. And, of course, people worried about babies.
