As it's been roughly a week since my last proper, content-laden post, I'm going to attempt to get caught up. Unfortunately, as this was an afternoon-evening shift day, my brain is about the consistency of Spackle, but not nearly as coherent. So, alla breve:

* I hate drama with the fire of a thousand burning things.

* Been hangin' with the kids this week. As said children are aged eleven and eight, this has meant a series of needle spikes on my life's drama-meter (accent on the second syllable, please).

* Also an end result of said kid time: a not-so-gentle reminder of how much Hanna-Barbara genuinely sixty-nined small furry woodland creatures, in all relevant decades. Yeesh.

* On the other hand, Abbey this morning insisted on cuing up the video for "It's the End of the World As We KNow It" (the real version), and later we all huddled around the TV engrossed in Iron Chef America. I swell with unmasked pride.

* And oh yes, a birthday party last weekend for the Crateful o' Awesome that is [livejournal.com profile] botia: Indian food with her, [livejournal.com profile] rafaela, [livejournal.com profile] icarusfallen8 and [livejournal.com profile] blimix, followed by games with Adam-whose-LJ-handle-I-can't-remember. Totally worth crawling home at 3 a.m. for.

* And, um, yeah. That stuff.

But?

No, no, the other one. Whose handle I can't remember.

I saw that you added me to your Friends post -- thank you! -- so I've added you to mine and dropped by here to browse.

Interesting journal. I share your profound distaste for drama. In my household, we joke about people "riding the Drama Llama." I even wrote a rude set of song lyrics about it.

Ahh, yes, well acquainted with the drama llama. On the other hand, if I'm really that averse to drama, what am I doing on this here Interweb thingy?

Oh, and by the way: Hi. Adam Fromm here. Long time, no see. *waves*

It's so good to see you again! What's up in your life, these days?

As for drama, there are parts of the Internet and LJ that cater to it, and parts that don't. I prefer to frequent the latter.

Well, to sum up (let me take a deep breath): Married Lauren, moved to Oneonta, NY once we'd both graduated, promptly divorced. Met Kristi, [insert long story here involving one relocation, one marriage and two children], divorced again. I'm now living with my sweetie [livejournal.com profile] rafaela, working as a call completions operator for the phone company while constructing crosswords and other puzzles for a few publications on the side. I'm still writing songs (I seem to have taken a wrong turn at Albuquerque somewhere along the line because a lot of the recent stuff has been filkish in nature), I'm a hundred-plus pages into a novel I'm working on, I have a few games in development, and my life needs to be substantially calmer. *exhales*

How about you? I've seen your name in print more than a few times since I saw you last.

Wow, that's quite a string of adventures!

I've got a partner of my own, and moved back into the house where I grew up. I ran a magazine for about 7 years. I've also been the Dean of Studies at the Grey School of Wizardry for several years. Last summer, my first book came out: Composing Magic: How to Create Magical Spells, Rituals, Blessings, Chants, and Prayers. My newest gigs are a pair of columns in The Daily Spell online: "How to Herd Cats: Essays on Pagan Leadership" and "Book Reviews from Hypatia's Hoard." Watch for my monthly poetry fishbowls, or click the "Fishbowl" tag in my blog for previous ones.

I was about to call you guys and ask "Dude, what's up?" (I can call [livejournal.com profile] rafaela "Dude" too, right?) Thanks for staying alive.

It's good that I talk to you online occasionally, or I would worry more that you'd fallen and couldn't get up.
