Smatterings
Apr. 24th, 2008 10:53 pmAs it's been roughly a week since my last proper, content-laden post, I'm going to attempt to get caught up. Unfortunately, as this was an afternoon-evening shift day, my brain is about the consistency of Spackle, but not nearly as coherent. So, alla breve:
* I hate drama with the fire of a thousand burning things.
* Been hangin' with the kids this week. As said children are aged eleven and eight, this has meant a series of needle spikes on my life's drama-meter (accent on the second syllable, please).
* Also an end result of said kid time: a not-so-gentle reminder of how much Hanna-Barbara genuinely sixty-nined small furry woodland creatures, in all relevant decades. Yeesh.
* On the other hand, Abbey this morning insisted on cuing up the video for "It's the End of the World As We KNow It" (the real version), and later we all huddled around the TV engrossed in Iron Chef America. I swell with unmasked pride.
* And oh yes, a birthday party last weekend for the Crateful o' Awesome that is
botia: Indian food with her,
rafaela,
icarusfallen8 and
blimix, followed by games with Adam-whose-LJ-handle-I-can't-remember. Totally worth crawling home at 3 a.m. for.
* And, um, yeah. That stuff.

Date: 2008-04-26 03:11 pm (UTC)As for drama, there are parts of the Internet and LJ that cater to it, and parts that don't. I prefer to frequent the latter.

Re: New Friend
Date: 2008-04-29 03:00 am (UTC)I've got a partner of my own, and moved back into the house where I grew up. I ran a magazine for about 7 years. I've also been the Dean of Studies at the Grey School of Wizardry for several years. Last summer, my first book came out: Composing Magic: How to Create Magical Spells, Rituals, Blessings, Chants, and Prayers. My newest gigs are a pair of columns in The Daily Spell online: "How to Herd Cats: Essays on Pagan Leadership" and "Book Reviews from Hypatia's Hoard." Watch for my monthly poetry fishbowls, or click the "Fishbowl" tag in my blog for previous ones.
