Dear Landlords,

Hi! Yes, it's us on the fourth floor. Listen, I know you have a lot invested in this building that you purchased last year, and I know you have a lot of remodeling to do. And the stuff you've done so far looks great, really.

However.

If you're going to paint the staircases green, could you please not paint both staircases leading down from our floor on the same [very bad word]ing day? Seriously. I've talked to everyone in your office, and you at least seem to have IQs higher than that of a tub of spackle, so I'm at a loss for an explanation. And even though my manager laughed her bodily extremities off when I told her why I was going to be late today, I can't imagine that this is going to reflect well on my employment rating. (And I do apologize for the footprints I left in your lovely paint job on the way in, but come on.)

Perturbed,
Adam

And there aren't elevators? That is totally messed up.

Well, crap. That is some seriously bad planning on the management company's part.

Sorry. I deleted my last comment because it contained enough of a building description that people might have been able to figure out where [livejournal.com profile] slipjig lives.

However, I'm not surprised that the place doesn't have elevators. Buildings constructed in that era and for that purpose typically didn't. I suspect the management company just hired a painting contractor and told them, "Hey, paint all the interior hallways" and it's the painting contractor that failed to think.

It's cool, I figured that was the case.

And yeah, you're right, but still, someone should have thought of that.
