* [livejournal.com profile] rafaela was feeling even worse this morning, so we brought out the hardcore anti-cold-and-flu weapons. Yes, that's right, we made a big pot of Manischewitz Matzoh Ball Soup. Must have worked, since she's feeling a good lash better now.

* Puzzle finally repaired, typed up and e-mailed to Christian at the Oxford U. Press blog; it should be appearing there in the near future. Not the prettiest thing I've ever written (truth be told, there's spots that made me cringe), but then again, that's what I get for being greedy and trying to cram in 11 theme entries. I need to not do that.

* Thing shouted at the screen during our earlier viewing of Trastram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story: "Jesus, how f*cking meta can you get?" Seriously, if you've not seen it, you have no idea.

* Need vacuum cleaner bags and a new shower curtain liner. I can sense how fascinated you all are by this.

* Hm. Maybe this will be the night that I don't wake up at some ridiculous hour of the morning. Sigh.

I am SO GLAD that you finally got to watch Tristram Shandy. I liked (?) it so much I watched it three nights in a row as I dragged different friends over for another showing. I mean, we're talking about the sort of movie where one of the events in the main film is the making of the "behind the scenes of Tristram Shandy" DVD extra.

I put on my apron and feather duster

If the plastic of the shower curtain is still intact, you can actually toss it in the washing machine (cold water) with a towel. Hang to dry.

Can't help you with the vacuum cleaner bags, though. There's no re-using those...but you can save them a little trouble by pre-brushing the carpet/furniture with a stiff brush *before* vacuuming the cat hair off of them. My mother's dog used to shed so much, she literally had to sweep the carpet with a broom before vacuuming so that the dog hair didn't clog her upright!
