Dear Bat-Whack Insane Half of Adam's Brain,

Hiya, it's me, the Sane Half. Y'know, the one you don't talk to all that often? Right, that one. Anyroad, I've been listening to what's been going through your synapses today, and I seriously need to lodge a formal protest here.

Yes, I know you've had the Rent soundtrack on constant rotation in the car for the past few days. And yes, it's a great show and it's hitting all the necessary happy buttons and all. But ahem:

No, you canNOT write a f#%@ing musical.

Stop it. Just look at your stack of unfinished projects and flippin' stop, already. Preferably before you start.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. Idjit.

All the best,
The Sane Half of Adam's Brain

Y'know, much as I like supporting sanity, I just can't not encourage the writing of musicals.

I'm the same way. I honestly don't think I have the credentials, though, which I know shouldn't stop me from trying, but it does add to the bat-whack crazy factor.

WRITE.

*AHEM*

The Noise of Endless Wars must be finished before anything else is undertaken, and that means YOU CANNOT MAKE TNOEW INTO A MUSICAL.

CONSIDER THE SANE WRITER HALF OF ADAMS BRAIN NUDGED with a clue by 4.

Sincerely,

The Readership Wondering Where The Hell It Went! XD

It's coming! I swear! I ran into a combination of a bout of semi-depression/apathy and a major plot hole that I had to work out before proceeding. The former is a fading consideration and the latter has been dealt with, so writing shall continue apace. I promise!

*nods* Since I'm not "officially" participating in NaNoWriMo this year, I'm going to instead use November to try to kill off Endless Wars. Cross your fingers....

Didn't Bat Out of Hell start out very early on as a musical?

No! Bad Chris! Baaaaaaaaad Enabling Chris!

...there. You're saved from insanity. (Or are you??!!)

Hi. I've been in a weird mood, too.

Actually, everything Jim Steinman has ever written has fit into Wonderland, the never-to-be-produced musical in his head. I take heart in the fact that I'm not Jim Steinman, and thus am free of his burden. *firm nod*

Interesting. I figured Steinman's mind was an intriguing place...

Hey, changing the subject, the kids' music show I listen to Saturday mornings played a Shaggs song!

Noise of Endless Wars = more important than musical

That being said, I think that IF you decided to do it, you'd do it well.

Jeez...what IS it with that soundtrack?

It has been a constant loop in my brain for about two weeks now.

And if you write that musical, the word "penguins" must be in the overture.

Because I said so, that's why.

Actually, I was thinking of you when I typed this up. I still remember you playing the overture to King's Pawn at the Red Herring open mic back in, what, 1990? Many moons ago. (You also played "Chill," if memory serves.)

I never listen to the sane halves of my brain. How can I be certain either one is still sane after all these years? Besides, they are boring. Do all the right things. Never have any fun.

Blech.

Quick... WAKE UP...

(Being a gemini, it's so easy to stay crazy after all these years.)
