Set phasers to "squish"
Jul. 19th, 2009 09:54 amOur dining room table, like many dining room tables, sometimes becomes a catch-all for stray bits of junk mail and what-have-you, and ours had developed a stack of unimportant and only-semi-important Things to Sort Through. This has been a good, solid focus for my procrastination talents for a while, and the stack had gotten rather higher than usual. Last night, however, I suddenly found the inspiration to get it taken care of; sadly, that inspiration came weh I discovered the stack had been colonized. Ewwww.
It seems that, at some point, a piece of foil-wrapped chocolate had found its way under the stack, where first it melted in the summer heat, then extruded from its metal casing, which the ants had found too irresistable to, well, resist. After throwing out all unnecessary papers, determining that the necessary ones were vermin-free, tossing a glasses case that had gone condo (ewwwwww), and 409ing the crap out of the whole deal, I think the problem is taken care of. For now.
I'm hoping the fact that I didn't sleep last night is unrelated.
