Driving through town the other day, I spotted a sign on a car that was advertising a company called "Onan Sales and Service."

This, needless to say, provided me with veritable hours of entertainment. After noting to myself that the operation seemed likely more devoted to "service" than to "sales," I began amusing myself by coming up with potential company slogans while I drove: "ONAN: We're there if you need a helping hand." "ONAN: Bursting with pride!"

And now, while Googling the matter, I discover that this business is likely tied to an RV supply company called (wait for it) "Cumming Onan Generators." The jokes write themselves, people.

Actually it's Cummins (engine and generator company) and Cummins Onan (more generators). I know because my Uncle Greg works for Cummins and my Grandpa Irv (Greg's dad) worked for it.

Cummins once had a country jingle called "Hummin' Cummins." I HAD A 45 OF THIS.
