Question for the evening, whilst I try to determine if the achy-sluggish-queasy thing is a capital-T Thing, or just a "thing":

What is your pole-dancing song?

Yes, I know, it's likely that you do not pole dance. Neither do I. Let's assume, though, just for a larf, that we all do. What would be your song of choice for such an activity, private though such an activity might be? (Assume that any song in the known world is eligible; since I've heard of everything from "Rock Me Amadeus" to "Sweet Home Alabama" being used at strip clubs, I'd say the net is cast rather wide.)

My selection, after some consideration, is a rather unfortunate one, as it will likely brand me as a wuss (it's a fair cop), but I'm sticking by it because of the slow burn factor: "Volcano," by Damien Rice. No, I'm not actually going to do it.

Yours?

[EDIT: It's been years since I'd watched that video, and now I'm remembering: dear gods, that's a pretty trio.]

Yeah, that's right. Show me another musician to get addicted to! XD

As for the song "Vision Thing" by The Sisters of Mercy.
Or maybe "Angry Inch" from Hedwig to further confound the already confused.

Yeah, I can hear the laughter right now.XD

But it blows "Vogue" off the stage.

Ye gods, I just had a thought of anybody pole dancing to music by Jars of Clay.

I need to stop thinking.

That's a fun question. Right now for me I think it would be a toss up between Arcade Fire's My Body Is A Cage or Muse's Undisclosed Desires.

This one.

And remember, you said: "Assume that any song in the known world is eligible."

When I was younger I used to want a mash up of Head Like a Hole and Tori Amos' Little Earthquakes, and I still think that might do, though it sort of needs another human to play the other part. Amos' Playboy Mommy is perhaps a little obvious, but it could work. Ditto Like the Way I Do by Melissa Etheridge. I could do a sort of goth burlesque to Paths of Desire by October Project .

For pole dancing:

"I LIke It", by Moby.

or

"Mille Anni Passi Sunt", Corvus Corax (fuck y'all, I can too do it to bagpipes)

If I were full-on dancing, it would be:

"Breed", by Snake River Conspiracy. I hate fanvids, but it was all that was available.

At the risk of sounding cliche...

"Peek-a-Boo" by Siouxsie and the Banshees.

But if that weren't allowed, I'd pick "Burn" by the Cure. The Indoor Guard Geek in me would love to do up a whole floor routine for that one. Always has, since I first heard it. :)

It took me a while to think of suitable song, but I think Tsugaru might be the one. It would be a manic dance, but the tempo changes could make it really interesting.
