Now here's where the fun begins. From [livejournal.com profile] rubian77:

10 Least Favorite Songs Ever

1) "Barbie Girl," Aqua — The song most likely to spontaneously trigger a hostage situation.
2) "From a Distance," Bette Midler — The only song on the planet that can make "Wind Beneath My Wings" even remotely palatable in comparison.
3) "Red Red Wine," UB40 — I don't know why. For some reason, this one comes on, and my eyelid starts twitching, and then my fists start clenching, and then it's the bleeding ears and the begging for mercy.
4) "She's So Cold," The Rolling Stones — "I'm so hot for her, I'm so hot for her, I'm so hot for her, and she's so cold." And in case you didn't catch it the first time, Mick Jagger will now elaborate. FOREVER. ("Shattered" isn't much better.)
5) "Suzanne," Leonard Cohen — I would probably have more tolerance for this one if open mic "performers" didn't insist on mud-stomping this one over and over again.
6) "All for You," Sister Hazel — Not only did they come up with the most grating vocal hook of the '90's ("It took a long, long TIII-iime..."), they made a point of repeating it 673 times.
7) Metal Machine Music, Lou Reed — Double album, but counts as one song. One very...very...painful song. The musical equivalent of a root canal.
8) "Seasons in the Sun," Terry Jacks — Dear gods, no. Did anyone ever actually like this?
9) "I Love You Always Forever," Donna Lewis — I'm still not convinced that there's a song in that song.
10) "Ode to My Family," The Cranberries — I remember hearing an NPR annual music wrap-up for that year, wherein the host and the commentator were talking about Dolores's "amazing voice." I nearly laughed myself off the couch.

There's a rumor that MMM was a great big "FU" to the record company, that LR was forced to produce it because of a contractual obligation to produce one last album before he was free of his contract with the record label. So he set out to make a pile of, essentially, unlistenable and unsaleable crap.

I'm surprised there's no Celine Dion in the list. "My Heart Will Go On" is certainly enough to set my teeth on edge.
